General Lake Description:
Cross Lake is one of the most beautiful of
the seventeen lakes on the magnificent
Whitefish Chain of lakes. From quiet
serenity to non-stop boat action, Cross Lake
has it all. Plenty of great fishing,
all-day long boat cruises admiring fantastic lakehomes, water-sports of all types, and
numerous choices of dining from picnics to
casual to formal, Cross Lake is definitely
“the lake to be on”, even if only for a
day.

Cross Lake Lakeshore Quality:
Cross Lake is generally a clear water lake, with
mostly sandy swimming beaches and a few
shallow areas with sporadic bulrushes and
weeds. In general, Cross Lake has excellent
water quality throughout the lake. |

Cross Lakeshore Elevations:
Although most of Cross Lake’s elevation is
medium to high, some lower elevations do
exist. All, though, Cross Lake has
excellent elevation and clear, clean water
and excellent sandy swimming beaches and
breathtaking lake views.

General Lakeshore Development:
Although much of the Cross Lake is developed, the
variety in cabin/house styles is definitely
worth witnessing. Cross Lake has everything
from quaint, rustic, small cabins to
bone-fide mansions, and everything
in-between. This feature makes Cross Lake
unique in its own way, one that makes a
visit well worth the time.

Since there are no resorts on Cross Lake, resort
traffic is basically non-existent.

The only restaurant on Cross Lake is The Wharf
(218.692.3454), which is located at the
northwest corner of the lake in the channel
going into Rush Lake

Cross Lake Lake Homes & Cabins:
Most residences on Cross Lake are newer
homes and cabins, although plenty of more
rustic, original dwellings still exist.
Although there certainly are full-time,
year-round residents, the majority of
residents do not live on Cross Lake
year-round; rather, they enjoy their
lakehomes and cabins on the weekends and are
primarily seasonal residents.

Shallow Water Concerns:
Cross Lake is generally very easy to access
from all of its public access. Although
there are some low-water areas, they are
clearly marked. If caution is exercised
around these buoyed areas, no boaters should
ever experience any problems navigating
beautiful Cross Lake.

Prime Cross Lake Lakeshore:
Cross Lake has a variety of great elevations, with medium elevations being the
most prevalent. Probably the most striking feature of lakeshore on Cross Lake is the contrasting
elevations with a gorgeous mix of trees from hardwoods to pines.
